Just to tidy up loose ends, I need to report that my political involvement was ultimately unsuccessful. The local candidate I supported was not elected, but received the third highest number of votes out of seven candidates.
Despite her being a great candidate with all the skills needed to be an excellent parliamentarian, this outcome wasn’t unexpected. But it is still devastating to me.
Nevertheless, the government was changed and a number of like-minded Independent candidates were elected, and Australia may (hopefully) have turned a corner on climate action and some other important matters.
So I live in hope.
Now back to questions about the existence of God and the truth about him/her/it.
Sorry to hear your candidate didn’t win….but I commend your choice to get politically active in such a constructive way. I’ve been active politically for quite a while and can say defeats are often more eye opening and educational then victorys. So don’t let it discourage you.
Look forward to reading more from you.
